Mantua and Sabbioneta, registered in 2008 as the only site in the UNESCO World Heritage List, represent a centuries-old legacy of tangible and intangible assets, ideas, values and traditions, which belong to everyone.
With the MANTUA AND SABBIONETA HERITAGE CENTRE We want to recount, through information, stories, videos and installations, the exceptional and universal value of the two cities, united for over 500 years in the ideals of the Renaissance.
The Heritage Centre, system of spaces spread across the territory, welcomes us to some symbolic places in the two historic centers: Renaissance buildings restored to new functions and open to the public.
Why the name Heritage Centre?
Heritage in English it means “heritage”, but also “inheritance”, that is, the set of cultural and natural assets, both material and immaterial, of a territory, which, inherited from past generations, must be handed down intact to future generations so that they can in turn benefit from them.
