Mobartech. Exploring Heritage.

Get your bearings. Get lost. Explore. Taste. Discover. How can we imagine a different, more active and sensorial way of experiencing cultural heritage?

The Institute ITES Pitentino (Tourism address) and the’Bonomi Mazzolari High School (Services for food and wine and hotel hospitality) of Mantua were involved in the design process of the interpretation / exploration kit of the cultural heritage studied by the team of Department of Human Sciences for Education "Riccardo Massa" at the University of Milan-Bicocca within the project Mobartech

Through a process of cooperative learning, future tourism operators have experienced how the places they live in can be constant sources of discovery and how sustainable, responsible and participatory tourism can be achieved.

The tangible outcome was the production of a interpretation kit for the UNESCO site of Mantua and Sabbioneta, which can be used without the need for a specialized mediator, but which at the same time allows for the proposal of laboratory activities managed by specialized teachers and operators and changes the paradigm of approach and mediation of heritage.

The effort was to start from scientifically validated sources that would induce the public to work on building new knowledge to make available to other audiences.
All this thanks to the work of researchers and professionals in very diverse disciplinary fields: from the geography of tourism to musical and circus performances, from architecture and nature to archival research.
The project was carried out during the 2018-2020 school years.
