ROTONDA DI S. LORENZO
Entrance to the building
The entrance to the Rotonda di S. Lorenzo is reached via a staircase with very wide and low steps, as well as two ramps created using the facilitated step technique. There is no handrail. For those who use mobility aids, it may be necessary to be accompanied.
At the end of the ramp on the left (looking at the Rotonda) there is a tactile panel with some basic information about the monument in raised lettering, along with a raised drawing of the church plan and its entrance. From the entrance there is a barrier-free pathway surfaced with tactile flooring to assist blind and visually impaired people in finding the exit.
There is another ramp with double handrail at the exit to overcome a step. The current COVID-19 situation has forced a separation of the entrance and exit. A second, side entrance was opened and it is accessible through a ramp with handrail.
Visitor route
The main hall is completely level and barrier-free.
There are informative materials along the circular corridor, which, due to the backlighting system and height, may not be easily visible. There are no services inside to facilitate knowledge of the venue by blind and visually impaired persons.
At the exit, there is a small, steep ramp to overcome a double step. As there is no floor at the end of the ramp, opening the door is difficult and requires the help of a carer or a member of staff.
Toilets
There are no toilets.
Additional facilities
In addition to religious celebrations, the church hosts concerts and conferences of various kinds. There are currently no additional services to facilitate the use of the venue.
