Information for your visit

Visits to the theatre are free during public opening hours. However, it is advisable to check at the  Casa del Rigoletto Infopoint (Phone: +39 0376 288208) whether there are any shows or conferences scheduled, during which tours are not permitted.

HOW TO GET HERE

Public Transport

From the railway station (B) you can travel on APAM lines: 4C / 4S / 4T / 12. Once you reach Piazza Sordello (A), the library is roughly a 5-minute walk away.

All APAM buses are equipped with a lifting platform and there is a voice announcement service for stops on urban routes. At the moment, in order to receive adequate assistance, notification of the intention to use the service is required no later than two working days before use.

By car

There is a large car park in Piazza Arche (marked on the map), which includes two reserved parking spaces. The car park is closed at the moment due to work on an underground extension.

There are more parking spaces in the streets around the State Archives, in ZTL area. Holders of disabled badges can access by notifying in advance by filling in the on line form Prenotazione ZTL Pass disabili or by writing to infomulte@comune.mantova.it

Entrance to the building

The entrance is from Via Accademia, via a small, gently inclined ramp connected to the road.

The pavements in the area are very narrow and slightly uneven near the pedestrian crossings; those using mobility aids may need to be accompanied or prefer to remain on the road. 

Ticket office

The entrance area where the ticket office and a small bookshop with guides, information material and publications are located is adequately sized and free from architectural barriers.

Visitor route

Stalls: On the ground floor it is possible to access the stalls of the theatre, which are level, with a central corridor and two side corridors of adequate size for the use of mobility aids. During performances and events, accessed from the back, there are four places reserved specifically for theatre-goers in wheelchairs on the right-hand side.

Upper floors: Due to the absence of a lift, the theatre galleries and the reception room on the first floor are not accessible to all users.

Toilets

The toilets are not accessible by people with disabilities (as indicated by law).

Additional facilities

There are no additional facilities, although the theatre's excellent acoustics make it an ideal concert venue. There are no services to facilitate knowledge of the venue by blind and visually impaired persons.
