ROTOND OF SAN LORENZO

Entrance to the building

The entrance to the Rotonda di San Lorenzo is reached via a staircase with very wide, low steps, as well as two ramps created using the "assisted step" technique. There is no handrail. Those with mobility limitations or who use mobility aids may require the assistance of a companion.

At the end of the left ramp (facing the Rotonda), there is a tactile panel with basic information about the monument in embossed text, a drawing of the church's floor plan, and a relief of its entrance. From the panel to the entrance, there is a LOGES path that helps the blind and visually impaired find the exit.

At the exit, there is an additional ramp with a double handrail to overcome a step. The current COVID-19 situation has forced a separation between the entrance and exit. A second side entrance has been opened, accessible via a ramp with a handrail..

Visit itinerary

The main classroom is completely level and free of architectural barriers.

Along the circular corridor, there are informational materials, which, due to the backlighting and height, may be difficult to see. There are no aids inside to help blind and visually impaired visitors understand the site.

At the exit, there is a small, steep ramp to overcome a double step. Since there is no landing at the end of the ramp, opening the door is difficult and requires assistance from a companion or staff.
