Palace of the Podest\u00e0<\/a> <\/strong>It recently reopened to the public after a sophisticated process of consolidation and restoration. And it is precisely in this historic building that it has found its home. Virgil Museum<\/a><\/strong>, a new one cultural and innovative space<\/strong> dedicated to the great Latin poet, which the city has decided to dedicate to him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, the bond between Virgil and Mantua is as deep as live<\/em> \u2013 it is no coincidence that, in the Middle Ages, Palazzo del Podest\u00e0 earned the nickname \u201cPalazzo di Virgilio\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Palace hosts a contemporary museum<\/strong> Where precious finds<\/strong>, ancient specimens of the Virgilian works<\/strong> And multimedia content<\/strong> coexist with frescoes<\/strong> returned to see the light after centuries: all to involve visitors in an experience of discovering the poet who so many around the world feel so familiar, almost as if he were a friend as well as a guide, a prophet, a model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The museum is made up of eight rooms that provide access to the recently restored rooms of the Palazzo del Podest\u00e0, Arengario, and Masseria in the heart of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are three main sections, those dedicated to the works of Virgil \u2013 Bucolics, Georgics, and the Aeneid \u2013 where multimedia and multisensory installations take viewers directly into the works, evoking the themes and sensations shaped by Virgil's verses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the installations, Virgil Museum<\/strong> Also on display are the most important finds from the Civic Collections of the Municipality of Mantua attributable to the Supreme Poet and the Palazzo del Podest\u00e0. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
