{"id":4303,"date":"2025-11-28T12:12:30","date_gmt":"2025-11-28T11:12:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.mantovasabbioneta-unesco.it\/?post_type=poi&#038;p=4303"},"modified":"2025-12-11T09:35:46","modified_gmt":"2025-12-11T08:35:46","slug":"il-museo-maca-un-palazzo-per-quattro-collezioni","status":"publish","type":"poi","link":"https:\/\/mantovasabbioneta-unesco.it\/en\/poi\/il-museo-maca-un-palazzo-per-quattro-collezioni\/","title":{"rendered":"The MACA Museum: One Palace for Four Collections"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Inside the MACA \u2013 <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mantovasabbioneta-unesco.it\/en\/poi\/palazzo-s-sebastiano-mantova\/\" data-type=\"poi\" data-id=\"1299\">Palace of San Sebastiano <\/a><\/strong>It is possible to discover four collectors who contributed to shaping Mantua&#039;s cultural heritage in different eras: Francesco II and Vespasiano Gonzaga, Giuseppe Acerbi and Ugo Sissa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Marquis Francesco II<\/strong> He had Palazzo San Sebastiano built as his residence, in which he could show himself both as a glorious leader and man of government and as a patron and lover of culture: the main hall of the Palace was created to host the <strong>Triumphs of Mantegna<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Duke Vespasian<\/strong> he dedicated himself to the foundation of Sabbioneta in the name of classical antiquity and preserves his precious collection in the<a href=\"https:\/\/mantovasabbioneta-unesco.it\/en\/poi\/galleria-degli-antichi\/\" data-type=\"poi\" data-id=\"3076\"> <strong>Gallery of the Ancients<\/strong><\/a> Of <a href=\"https:\/\/mantovasabbioneta-unesco.it\/en\/poi\/palazzo-giardino\/\" data-type=\"poi\" data-id=\"3079\"><strong>Garden Palace <\/strong><\/a>in Sabbioneta. The exceptionality of this collection is that it has remained intact over time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There <strong>Giuseppe Acerbi Collection <\/strong>It is made up of very varied materials: a Mamluk saddle, Nubian weapons and tools made of plant fibres alongside Egyptian statues of the royals and the precious Ushabti of Seti acquired while Acerbi was Austrian consul in Egypt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The latest collection is that of <strong>Ugo Sissa <\/strong>which stands out for the type of finds it contains: rare objects to find in various Italian museums coming from the area of ancient Mesopotamia such as construction cones, clay tablets with cuneiform writing, votive statuettes, seals and amulets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure
