{"id":44,"date":"2020-07-03T20:36:22","date_gmt":"2020-07-03T18:36:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.mantovasabbioneta-unesco.it\/2020\/07\/03\/percorso-di-partecipazione-pubblica\/"},"modified":"2025-12-16T12:54:19","modified_gmt":"2025-12-16T11:54:19","slug":"percorso-di-partecipazione-pubblica","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mantovasabbioneta-unesco.it\/en\/percorso-di-partecipazione-pubblica\/","title":{"rendered":"Path of participation and sharing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There\u00a0<strong>participation\u00a0<\/strong>of local communities and key stakeholders is increasingly important in the management policies promoted by UNESCO for the sites\u00a0<strong>World Heritage<\/strong>.<br \/>\nFor this reason, at various levels, the Office has experimented with participatory experiences, trying to involve local subjects and citizens as much as possible in the planning and management of activities to understand, safeguard, protect and enhance the site.<br \/>\nExamples of these experiments are the <strong>Mantua and Sabbioneta Heritage Center<\/strong> they <strong>Participation meetings for the Management Plan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Management Plan<\/strong> finds its raison d&#039;\u00eatre when it involves the Site&#039;s actors to increase their <strong>awareness <\/strong>and the <strong>responsibility<\/strong> in the <strong>protection of its values<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>THE&#039;<strong>Mantua and Sabbioneta World Heritage Office<\/strong> It thus initiated a process of sharing, stakeholder involvement, and public participation. This intersectoral and multifaceted process took the form of <em>stakeholder consultation<\/em> with specifically dedicated meetings, held in two successive phases:<\/p>\n<p><strong>First phase \u2013 THE DIALOGUE TABLES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mainly consultative in nature, the first phase involved 47 subjects on various topics concerning the management of the Site, through the collection of proposals indicated by the <em>stakeholders <\/em>as fundamental for the development opportunities of the Site itself.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, the discussions aimed to promote: understanding the exceptional value of the site; sharing research and studies useful for its conservation; analyzing critical issues and the adequacy of existing protection measures; analyzing tools for managing natural and man-made risks; analyzing the livability of the two historic centers and their use; and analyzing projects promoted by various stakeholders to address emerging risks.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Second phase \u2013 DAYS OF DEBATE AND IN-DEPTH EXPERIENCE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Of a laboratory nature, this second phase was aimed at exploring the themes that emerged in the previous phase and at highlighting the different priorities for intervention. For each day, each dedicated to a specific theme, a <em>Focus Group<\/em>\u00a0And <em>Open lessons<\/em> to citizens, with the involvement of experts and institutional representatives, cultural and trade associations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UNESCO SITE AND PUBLIC SPACES\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nQualification of urban and peri-urban spaces and connections \u2013 public spaces, historic squares, green areas, waste areas, cycle\/pedestrian systems \u2013 as coherent and fundamental parts of the World Heritage Site<\/p>\n<p><b>UNESCO SITE AND ENVIRONMENTAL SYSTEM<\/b><br \/>\nStructuring an environmental management system aimed at reconciling the protection with the use and recognition of an integrated heritage of the UNESCO Site<\/p>\n<p><b>UNESCO SITE AND VALUE CHAIN<\/b><br \/>\nRecognition and strengthening of the value chains (social, cultural, economic, tourist, commercial, productive, educational, etc.) connected to the UNESCO Site &#039;brand&#039;
