Protecting heritage to build peace."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>UNESCO is the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was founded in 1946, at the end of World War II, with the aim of building lasting peace in the world through international cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UNESCO&#039;s core missions include identifying, promoting, and protecting the world&#039;s cultural and natural heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This heritage represents the legacy of the past that we can benefit from today and that we must pass on to future generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Convention concerning the Protection of the World Heritage, adopted by UNESCO in 1972, establishes a list of cultural and natural properties that the entire international community is obliged to safeguard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To be included in the World Heritage List, candidate sites must be recognized as being of Outstanding Universal Value and meet at least one of the ten selection criteria that identify the exemplary nature of a property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"944\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/mantovasabbioneta-unesco.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/unesco_building.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mantovasabbioneta-unesco.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/unesco_building.jpg 944w, https:\/\/mantovasabbioneta-unesco.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/unesco_building-450x229.jpg 450w, https:\/\/mantovasabbioneta-unesco.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/unesco_building-150x76.jpg 150w, https:\/\/mantovasabbioneta-unesco.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/unesco_building-768x391.jpg 768w, https:\/\/mantovasabbioneta-unesco.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/unesco_building-18x9.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 944px) 100vw, 944px\" \/><\/figure>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>L\u2019UNESCO \u00e8 l\u2019Organizzazione delle Nazioni Unite per l&#8217;Educazione, la Scienza e la Cultura.
