The route extends for approximately 18 km, encircling almost the entire municipal area. It is a passive defense structure built between the 10th and 12th centuries, completed during the Gonzaga era and subsequently modified with additions in the 19th century.

The Arginelli nature trail is particularly enjoyable when explored on foot, by bicycle, or on horseback, offering evocative views and evidence of hydraulic architecture. The landscape is characterized by large oases of native vegetation, populated by typical fauna. Among the places worth visiting, in addition to Sabbioneta, are the hamlets of Breda Cisoni and Ponteterra, with their splendid baroque churches, the village of Villa Pasquali with the Church of Antonio Galli Bibiena, and the Marian Sanctuary of Vigoreto.
